The release of Social Warfare version 2.3.0 marked a significant milestone for us. As we outlined in the release notes, we made some significant upgrades to the core codebase, specifically the parts that powered our ecommerce, and licensing system.
Making the move to have our ecommerce system powered by Easy Digital Downloads (EDD) allowed us to finally bring to life a concept we hinted at over a year ago. That concept is add-ons.
In order to keep the core plugins as lightweight as possible, we needed a way to still add new and more advanced features, without causing excess bloat. Nothing is worse than a plugin or app that is overstuffed with features that you’ll never use.
So, now that we’ve officially got everything running with EDD, we can now begin releasing a number of new features in the form of add-ons.
Now, this doesn’t mean that every new feature will be an add-on. Our team will think critically about every new feature request and weigh whether not it would be best served:
a. Inside Social Warfare (free)
b. Inside the Pro add-on
c. As it’s own add-on
We have a lot of really great ideas from our users, and we have a handful of them that we’ve already begun development on. And, in fact, we’re releasing the first of 4 new add-ons today!
AffiliateWP and Social Warfare
In our humble opinions, there is no better way to quickly and easily launch an affiliate program for your products than with AffiliateWP.
We use it for our own products, and have loved the ease of use and powerful customization abilities.
So after hearing from a handful of our users who wanted to make it easier for their own affiliates to share their blog posts, product pages, and other site content, we created _Social Warfare – AffiliateWP.
Once installed, simply register your license key, and you’re all set. No other settings or configurations necessary.
Your logged-in affiliates will now be able to use the Social Warfare share buttons to share any page on your site and their unique affiliate ID will be automatically added to the shared URL.
Here’s a quick walkthrough:
Pretty simple, right?

Did Someone Say, “Launch Discount?”
For this very special, once-in-a-lifetime launch of Social Warfare – AffiliateWP we’re giving a 1st-year discount of 30% off.
That means you’re getting nearly 4 months free! Just chose a license that best fits your needs:
- Single Site –
$39$27.30 - Up to 5 Sites –
$99$69.30 - Up to 10 Sites –
$139$97.30
Yes, you’re reading that right. If you get your copy of Social Warfare – AffiliateWP today, you can get a 10-site license for less that it would typically cost for a 5-site license.
And if you are currently a Social Warfare affiliate, be sure to share this announcement like crazy so your audience can take advantage of the launch discount as well!

This is awesome. Could you please make this for Post Affiliate Pro (Self Hosted)?
Hi Pulkit! I’m not familiar with Post Affiliate Pro, but we’ll add it to our list to investigate.
Hey Dustin, I love this addition… so very cool. Big fan of AffiliateWP and what a fantastic idea.
My question is, will this be an education process for the vendors? Obviously they will need to let their affiliates know this is now an option that they have in place, right? I know that several of my vendors use this plugin, but I can’t assume they are doing this.
Again, great job!
Hey, Bob! Glad you like the new add-on! Yes, it will be a slight education process I think. Really, all it needs to be is something as simple as, “Hey, affiliates! Guess what? As of today, as long as you’re logged into your affiliate account on our site, you can now use the share buttons on any page and it will automatically be an affiliate link that is shared for you.”
I’m sure most vendors can put it more eloquently, but you get the general idea.
